Mr. and Mrs. Robert Root

Robert and Genevieve Root, Kokomo, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party with family and friends at the Continental Ballroom.

Robert and the former Genevieve Valadez were married July 3, 1958, in Kokomo.

He is retired from Chrysler, and she is retired from Delco Electronics.

The couple has four children, Jamie and husband Larry Cabello, Russiaville; Sherry Root, Kokomo; Vickey Root, Richmond, Va.; and Penny and husband Dan Tyler, Fort Myers, Fla. The couple also has six grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
