MADISON — The Kokomo Flipsters and Kokomotion gymnastics schools took part in the Level 6 and Level 7 State Championships here last weekend.
The Flipsters picked up a nice collection of state hardware including three individual championships. In Level 6, Alleca Kerker won the gold medal in the floor exercise with a score of 9.275 in the 13-and-older division. She also placed fifth on bars (8.45) and second in the all-around (35.500). Also in the 13-and-older division, Alicia Luna won the gold medal on beam (9.125) and finished fifth in the all-around (34.625) and Whitney Worl took fifth on vault (9.175) and fifth on beam (8.80).
The Flipster trio of Kerker, Luna and Worl won the 13-and-older division with a team score of 104.100 points.
Also for the Flipsters in Level 6, Darby Stanton won floor (9.15) in the 8-9 division and Amber Miller finished fourth on vault (9.275) in the 11-year-old division while in Level 7, Emileigh Conwell finished second on bars (9.30).
For Kokomotion, Ashley Whittaker placed fourth on floor (9.125) in the 10-year-old division of Level 6.
