Community helps family of 10 in time of need

In this day of violence and strife, Kokomo has been a shining light in a sometimes dark world. On April 14, the Barr family was burnt out of their home. With eight children and two adults, losing everything was devastating. This family has been in a fog and it has been very difficult for them to cope with what to do next.

A phone call to WWKI and Tammy Lively got the wheels rolling. People who are not from the Kokomo area have no idea what the power of love and community awareness is about. Thanks to this community and those phone calls, this family can breathe a bit better.

There have been a lot of tears for this family as well as prayers for them also. God certainly as His hands around them all. It is amazing to se the handy work of a Power much larger than anything we could dream possible.

With in a very few hours, bunk beds were delivered. The front porch was packed with all kinds of things. All Tanya could do was cry because so many people cared enough to get involved.

Once again, the spirit of goodness and love has made the Kokomo area shine. People form Kokomo, Russiaville, Peru and all the surrounding communities have answered the call. Thank you is never enough to say when the love and kindness is shown. A lot has been said about paying it forward, make a difference in someone else’s life. I believe that his area certainly has known that phrase to be true.

To all who paid it forward, and to all those who prayed for the Barr family, God bless each and everyone of you.

Stop outsourcing of all jobs

Recently we have been hearing Sen. Hillary Clinton proclaim that we must put an end to the outsourcing of jobs critical to national security.

So why stop there? Why not put an end to the outsourcing of all jobs, not just those tied to national security? And why not initiate steps to reverse-outsource those jobs already outsourced as a direct result of NAFTA?
