Letter to the editor - Friday, Dec. 14, 2007

Was there value in this lesson?

When the Kokomo Tribune exposed a 13-year-old for whatever reason, who was taught the lesson?

Here is a little girl who, working with her mother, learned valuable guidelines on making a living. It’s a lesson that more young people should learn, and many adults also.

Now she is introduced to the bureaucracy and sometimes cold laws that we all endure.

I wonder if the Board of Health in conjunction with the Kokomo Tribune would join up and travel around to some of the commercial kitchens, how many violations would they find and how many would be shut down? This was done in Indianapolis with a television news crew. There were many well-known restaurants that failed and some shut down.

I wonder what is next? Shut down the little lemonade stands in yards? Good to know that our government is right on the ball. Keep up the good work. You both make a great team.
