Hanna forces planes to Grissom

Associated Press

PERU -- Six Air Force planes are being moved to Grissom Air Reserve Base in Indiana to avoid Tropical Storm Hanna, which might become a hurricane by the time it strikes the East Coast.

The KC-135R Stratotankers are from the 916th Air Refueling Wing at Seymour-Johnson Air Force Base, near Goldsboro, N.C.

Grissom expected the first planes and their crews to arrive today.

Grissom officials say other planes based on the East Coast may also be moved to the base about midway between Indianapolis and South Bend.
