Mary Alice Griffith

Mary Alice Griffith, 88, Russiaville, died at 2:45 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2008 at her home.
She was born Dec. 17, 1919, in Kokomo, the daughter of Ira and Nellie (Durell) McKibben. She married Donald Griffith on May 25, 1938. He died Aug. 17, 1991.
She graduated from West Middleton High School and Huffer’s Beauty School. She retired from Delco Electronics in 1981.
She was a member of West Middleton Friends Church and the UAW Local 292. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting and her grandkids.
Survivors include four daughters, Susan Gardner, Jennie Hogan and Lori Galvin and her husband Jeff, all of Russiaville, Madonna Parsons and her husband, James, Greentown; a brother, Jack McKibben and his wife, Mary Ann, Greentown; and a sister, Phyllis Anstett and her husband, John, Kokomo. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Jay Pingleton and wife Danelle, Mark Pingleton and wife Suzanna, Candy Lipinski and husband Jeff, Amy Watson and husband Chad, Brad Parsons and wife Amanda, Jeff Parsons, Amanda Northey and husband Jared, Casey Gibson and husband Adam, and Shay Harden; 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers Jimmy McKibben and Gayle McKibben; a granddaughter, Lea Marie Hogan; and a granddaughter-in-law, Tisha Parsons.
A private family service will be held Thursday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, with Jason Grant officiating. A public graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery in Kokomo. No public visitation is planned.
