Lloyd Ridley Lening

Lloyd Ridley Lening, formerly of White House, Tenn., passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008, in Kokomo.

He was proud of his service in the U.S. Army during World War II and prior to that he worked as a CCC boy. He had a love for golf, gardening, fishing and most of all, spending time with his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Ann Lening Clark Smith; son-in-law, W. Edward Smith; grandsons, Lloyd Scott Clark (Dyna), Randall William Clark (Karen), David Michael Clark (Nancy); step-grandsons, Brian K. Smith, Michael J. Smith; great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Cully and Vida Lening; wife, Vera M. Lening; brothers, John, Donald, Cugar, Clyde, Bill, Claude and Hairpin.

Visitation with the family will be at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1 to 8 p.m. today. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Brother Tom Huls officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Stout and Son Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.
