Phillip Deniece ‘Dee’ Duncan
Jan. 8, 1918 - June 22, 2008
Phillip Deniece “Dee” Duncan passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2008, in Houston, Texas. He was born in Galveston on Jan. 8, 1918.
Following graduation from high school, he married Mildred Bowen of Cutler, and began a career in the trucking industry, a career that would last for more than 60 years. Following World War II, his entrepreneurial skills led him into the home construction industry as a complementary business to his trucking enterprise. He built more than 300 homes in the Kokomo area. He relocated to the Fallon, Nev., area in the mid 1980s following Mildred’s death and continued to engage in the trucking and construction industries. For more than 40 years, his primary hobby was flying, a skill he proudly developed at the Howard County Airport.
Dee is survived by his son Paul, who resides in Houston; his daughter, Carolyn Mitchell, Kokomo; a sister, Delores Sexton, Richmond; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He has been interred at the Churchill County Cemetery in Fallon, Nev.
