Alma L. Dragstrem
July 28, 1919 - Aug. 19, 2008
Alma L. Dragstrem, 89, Kokomo, passed away at 7:46 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo. She was born in Miami County, on July 28, 1919, to the daughter of Thomas and Lulu Rhinebarger Phelps. Alma married Howard A. Dragstrem at her parents’ home on March 24, 1940, and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1992.
Alma was a 1937 graduate of Clay Township High School. She was a homemaker, worked in retail sales for 15 years and was a retired employee of the Wabash Valley Bank and Trust Co.
She is survived by a son, James A. Dragstrem and his wife Gloria, Kokomo; grandsons, Tom Dragstrem, Brownsburg, and Bob Dragstrem, Amboy; great-grandchildren, Cory Dragstrem, Kayla Dragstrem, Megan Dragstrem and Allison Dragstrem.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard; a grandson Jeffery Dragstrem; and a sister, Alice.
A service celebrating the life of Alma L. Dragstrem will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Laird Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy, with Pastor Norman Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Grant Memorial Park, Marion. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Laird Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to Bennetts Switch United Methodist Church.
