Norma Jane Burket, 79, Tipton, died at 6:02 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born May 22, 1929, in Tipton, to Cloiyde and LaVerne (Pitcher) Porter. On Oct. 24, 1946, she married Donald G. Burket, and he survives.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Tipton. Norma enjoyed woodworking, gardening, crafts and playing the
piano.
Survivors besides her husband, Don, include five children, Steven Burket and his wife, Marlene, Bradenton, Fla., Debra Bowman, Kokomo, Jane Galloway and her husband, Joe, Kokomo, Rex Burket and his wife, Rhonda, Kokomo, and Brian Burket and his wife, Laura, Walton; two sisters, Jeanne Maynard, Tipton, and Marge Storer, Kohler, Wis.
Norma is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Michael Burket, Tyson Schoolman, Kyle and Brett Galloway, Ashleigh, Tracey, Rex and Noah Burket, Matt Burket and Allison Sears; two great-grandchildren, Cole Riley and Karsyn Schoolman.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Burket, and her parents.
Her funeral is 11 a.m. Monday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mark Ward presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
