Sarah Catherine Morris, 78, passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, in Long Beach, Calif. She was born Nov. 25, 1929, in Kokomo, to Gerald A. and Nellie M. (Doak) Roe. She was married to Max A. Morris in 1953, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2007.

Sarah was a “people person,” and a homemaker, and enjoyed painting, ceramics and crocheting.

Survivors include her children, Maxetta Ozawa, Brian Morris, Retta Moorman and Gerald Ray Shepard; five sisters, Nancy Burtch and Bonnie Miller, both of Kokomo, Helen Adams of Lake Mary, Fla., Charlotte Higgins, Spearfish, S.D., and Marjorie Colvin, Phoenix; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Davenport; a daughter, Portra Plew; her parents and five brothers.

A cremation was performed with no formal service.
